How Can I Host A Successful Movie?

Following is a checklist to help you fully prepare for your entire film schedule as well as each individual show. Your schedule may require slight adjustments in time frame, but the intervals are based on information from our most successful customers.

2+ months before the show

●Plan the start time for your movie. Remember: movies should start after sunset to insure a good quality picture. Check sunset times for your area here

Reserve films for all dates you think you will be able to program (You can always replace the films later if you change your mind, but it's much harder to add titles later).

If you are able to schedule your entire program, print up full calendars to be included with any mailings.

Contact vendors about giveaways or promotions at your show.

    Plan your ad campaign.

30-35 days before the show

Order security, if needed (this is important with late night shows if you are showing in a public  facility that is to be kept open later than usual).

Make sure you have a clean-up crew assigned for your event.

Mail out invitations, e-mails, private newsletter.

10 days before the show

Double-check the facility for all technical requirements.

Put up posters on the grounds of your facility (It is best if they are put in display cases).

2 business days before show

Double-check ticket takers and other staff's arrival time.

Day of show

    Organize giveaways

Prepare Box Office for rush. Be sure to have change and tickets.
